Rahma Hassan Ameir (1993) started to study the violin at the age of 19 at Dhow Contries Music Academy (DCMA) in Zanzibar. She has been taking violin classes with Muhammed Issa Matona and Mohammed Othman, and guest teachers such as Anna-Karina B. Knudsen and Emilie Heldal Lidsheim at DCMA since 2012.
In 2014 she started her Certificate Class with prof. Mitchel Strumpf at DCMA. Despite her young age she has already been working with many musicians both National and International. She is currently playing in several bands, a.o. Zanzibar Taarab group and Kidumbak Ensemble.
In 2015 she has, together with the Kidumbak Ensemble, been touring around both in Europe and Africa to festivals like the Brave Festival in Poland, HIFA in Zimbabwe and the Africa Festival in Germany.
